Who we are
Broomfield Park Skatepark Group (BPSG), is a not-for-profit voluntary group. Our aim is to build a new skatepark in Broomfield Park, Palmers Green, North London, for community use, focusing on the needs of local young people.
We want the new skatepark to cater for the specific needs of skateboarders, BMX bike riders, Scooter riders, Inline and Roller Skate riders; and users of other types of multi-wheel devices used on a skatepark. Enfield is remarkably lacking in skateboarding facilities, something we would like to change especially as the sport is more popular than ever since its inclusion in the Olympics in 2021.
We already have an online petition appeal which has gained much support with signatures and comments.
In 2023 we successfully raised funds for an essential Feasibility Study to be undertaken by renowned skatepark company Betongpark, as part of the pre-build planning process. The study is a Council requirement prior to new features being built in parks and includes consultation with those who may be affected by a new build, plus location recommendations. You can read the results of the study here.
Broomfield Park Skatepark Group is an Unincorporated Association with a bank account in its name and over 100 members. BPSG has a constitution, which governs the administration of the group, and it is managed by a management committee (the Steering Group). It’s key officers are the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. All posts are voluntary. BPSG also has policies which cover specific areas of it’s administration.
